My "story" is personal this year. I have been receiving chemotherapy infusions every three weeks since mid June for Her2 positive breast cancer. I will begin radiation next, along with an ongoing smaller dose of chemo.
I am optimistic. I believe prayer is powerful and am encouraged by an outpouring of prayer on my behalf. I have also been blessed by an amazing medical team and i am thankful for such wonderful care.
That said, this is not a path I would have chosen. How spectacular would it be if no one had to ever travel this road again! This is why I have decided to participate in this event.
I have run 30+ marathons since i started running at age 39. (I'm no spring chick at 68 years!) I had to pull out of Steamtown this year due to my diagnosis. I have continued to walk 5-6 miles 5-6 days a week and have occasionally run during this time as well. I am not race worthy at the level of my past but I WILL finish this challenge, 10 days after my final major treatment and prior to the radiation regime.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
